Sandy (Scholtens) Hamilton is a seasoned real estate professional with over 30 years of experience in commercial, residential, and new construction sales. Since 2007, she has been with Re/Max Professionals, Inc in Springfield, IL on the Melissa Dowson Vorreyer Sales Team where she has built a reputation for her deep commitment to her clients and community. She received her real estate license in 1993 in Champaign, IL and worked at Ramshaw-Smith Real Estate.
 
Her leadership extends beyond her real estate work
  • Serves on the Capital Area REALTORS® Board of Directors (2025).
  • Served on the Capital Area REALTORS® Board of Directors (2011–2015), including Finance Committee and Executive Board Member.
  • Served as President of the Commercial Real Estate Network (CREN) in 2013 and now currently as a board member for CREN (2025).
  • Earned prestigious certifications, such as GRI and ABR.
  • Honored with the Capital Area REALTORS® “Community Service Award” in 2012 for her impactful contributions.
  • President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) in 2000. In recognition of her dedication, she was named the “Volunteer of the Year” by the WBC in 2000.
  • Vice-President/Secretary of the Women’s Business Council (WBC) from 1995 to 2001.
Outside of real estate, Sandy is an influential community leader in Springfield.
  • State Representative 2020-2022. 
  • Served on the Economic and Community Development Commission.
  • Served on Sports Facilities Advisory Committee since 2019.
  • Served on Board of Directors for Pregnancy Care Center.
  • Served on the Board for Springfield Twins Club. 
  • Volunteer at Christ the King Parish- Home & School Board
  • Volleyball coach and administrator as Head Volleyball Coach at Sacred Heart Griffin to directing the Illinois Capitals and Springfield Elite Volleyball Clubs. Former Division I Volleyball athlete at University of Illinois, with multiple Big Ten Championships and Final Four appearances.
  • U of I Coaches Award (currently named the "Sandy Scholtens Award") for exemplary work ethic and teamwork.
Education
  • University of Illinois (1985–1990), Full athletic scholarship, letter winner for Division I Volleyball
  • Kiwanis Academic Award and All-American Award in Strength and Conditioning
  • Three-time Big Ten Champion and Final Four participant (1988, 1989)
  • Downers Grove North High School Hall of Fame inductee
